PERSONAL ARTWORK
Whether I am painting, sculpting, taking photos or even playing guitar, I consider myself an artist. I believe strongly that to consider oneself an artist they must consider the Studio Habits of Mind pedagogy in teaching. The 8 habits below are transferable to my everyday thinking. It's true they don't always happen simultaneously, but, if you consider this world your canvas, you will begin to see just how these habits will creep into your every day life.

Leaning toward the habits of a conceptual artist, my art practice takes on many forms. A lot of the time this means that my artwork can be categorized as "mixed media". I paint with oil and acrylic. I draw with oil pastels, pencil, chalk, markers and colored pencils. I create collage from my own photographs, drawings, journals and magazines. And, on a good day, I use all of these techniques in one piece!
I love being an artists and one of its greatest gifts is the permission to explore. Being an artist allows me to think outside of the box and explore difference concepts, emotions and ways of looking at the world. I believe that art is necessary to life and all of life can be seen in art's reflection.
STUDIO HABITS Develop craft・ Engage・ Persist・ Observe・ Envision・ Express・ Reflect・ Understand Art Worlds・ Stretch & Explore.
